Verify Your Dial-Up Networking Settings.
- From the Start menu, click Settings, and
choose Network and Dial-Up Connections.
- Double click on your account icon.
- Click Properties.
- Delete the contents of the Phone number field, and
type your new access number.
Remember to check with
your local telephone company to make sure that the number you
choose is a local toll-free call.
- Click on Options.
- Make sure Display progress while connecting and
Prompt for name and password are both checked.
- Click on Security.
- Make sure Typical is checked.
- Click on Networking.
- Make sure Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is checked.
- Click on Settings.
- Uncheck Enable LCP Extensions.
- Click OK.
- Click on TCP/IP and then click on Properties.
- Obtain and IP address automatically should be dotted.
- Obtain DNS Server address automatically should be
dotted.
- Click OK
- Click OK
